Who am I and why a blog about parks?

I'm just another mom who loves the outdoors.  I spend as much time as possible soaking up the sunshine and trying new things.  We have some fantastic parks in the Milwaukee area, but sometimes it's difficult to figure out where to get the information about what's happening when all you really want to do is GO!  That's why I write this blog.  I do the research for myself and my family anyway, so why not share it with you?

I'm not paid by any park or employed by any organization that supports the parks.  I do serve as a volunteer on the board with the Park People of Milwaukee County.  My opinions here are totally my own.  If I have second hand information, I try to provide the original link where I got the information.

I have a young son, Omar, who also happens to have Down syndrome.  He loves to play and has a unique sense of adventure.  We are in the parks frequently.  He's my guinea pig for what's fun.  If he enjoys a playground or activity, it usually gets on my blog.  If you see any photo of me, you will probably be able to tell, it was taken by an 8 year old wielding a big camera.  We both love photography!  I also spend a lot of time at the parks with my grandson, Landon, who is 3.  They are great critics of what is fun.

If you have a suggestion for the blog or something you'd like to know, feel free to connect with me through the blog or email alibarbara@att.net.
